Zimbabwe eSIM coverage and networks

Partner networks and top speeds in Zimbabwe. Actual speed depends on the signal where you are.

The coverage may not be available in the Victoria Falls region.

Reception is best in cities. In remote areas such as mountains, isolated beaches or the countryside, the signal may be weak or unstable.

How to activate the Zimbabwe eSIM

  1. 1

    Choose and buy

Check that your phone supports eSIM, then pick your plan. The QR code arrives by email, usually in under a minute, and is also saved in My eSIMs.

  2. 2

    Install before you travel

Connect to Wi-Fi and scan the QR code. Installing doesn't use up any days: the validity period only starts when the eSIM connects to a network at your destination.

  3. 3

    Activate on arrival

Turn on the eSIM, enable data roaming for it and select it for mobile data. Keep roaming off on your primary SIM.

Chat on WhatsApp
What is the best eSIM for Zimbabwe?

For a week in Zimbabwe with maps, messages and email, the 1 GB plan for 7 days (£10.19) is usually enough. With social media and video, expect to use 3 to 5 GB per week: the 3 GB plan for 30 days costs £20.19.

Which networks does the Zimbabwe eSIM use?

The Zimbabwe eSIM works on the Econet network, with up to 4G speeds where available. The coverage may not be available in the Victoria Falls region.

Does the Zimbabwe eSIM come with a phone number?

No. Zimbabwe eSIM plans are data only. WhatsApp stays on your usual number, and you can keep your primary SIM in your phone.

How much data do I need for 15 days in Zimbabwe?

With maps, messages and email, expect to use about 1 GB per week: the 2 GB plan for 15 days costs £14.09.

eSIM, local SIM or roaming: which is best for Zimbabwe?

An eSIM does the job of a local SIM card, but you install it before you fly, with nothing to pick up and no need to remove your primary SIM. For Zimbabwe, plans start at £10.19. With roaming, you pay whatever your network charges; with the eSIM, you know the price before you travel.

Can I top up without switching eSIMs?

On most plans, yes: you top up the same eSIM from your account or the Wavee app, with no new QR code and nothing to install. The top-up screen shows the plans that work with your eSIM.

Can I use my phone as a hotspot?

Usually yes, but it depends on the plan and the local network. If it matters for your trip, talk to us before you buy.

What if I can't use the eSIM?

You have up to 30 days to request a refund in eligible cases: a cancelled trip, an incompatible or locked phone, or an eSIM that doesn't connect. We review every request, and our support team will first try to fix the problem with you on WhatsApp or by email.
