Chat on WhatsAppWhat is the best eSIM for the USA?
For a week in the USA with maps, messages and email, the 1 GB plan for 7 days (Ksh 610) is usually enough. With social media and video, expect to use 3 to 5 GB per week: the 5 GB plan for 30 days costs Ksh 1,490. For heavy use or work, unlimited plans start at Ksh 1,910 for 3 days. If you need to make calls or receive texts, there are plans with a phone number from Ksh 790.
Which networks does the United States eSIM use?
The United States eSIM works on the T-Mobile and Verizon networks, with up to 5G speeds where available. The 10 GB plan for 365 days uses only the T-Mobile network.
Does the United States eSIM work in New York, Miami, Orlando and Las Vegas?
Yes. The eSIM works on the T-Mobile and Verizon networks, with up to 5G speeds where available. Coverage is nationwide, including Hawaii and Puerto Rico, but limited in Alaska.
Does the United States eSIM come with a phone number?
Yes. Choose “Data, calls & texts” and you get a phone number, 10 to 500 minutes and SMS, depending on the plan. On data-only plans, WhatsApp stays on your usual number.
Incoming calls also count against your minutes. You can't make international calls.
How much data do I need for 15 days in the USA?
With maps, messages and email, expect to use about 1 GB per week: the 2 GB plan for 15 days costs Ksh 740. With social media and video, it's more like 3 to 5 GB per week: the 10 GB plan for 30 days costs Ksh 2,380. If you'd rather not track your usage, 15 days of unlimited data costs Ksh 5,930, or Ksh 7,110 for Premium.
eSIM, local SIM or roaming: which is best for the USA?
An eSIM does the job of a local SIM card, but you install it before you fly, with nothing to pick up and no need to remove your primary SIM. For the USA, plans start at Ksh 610, and 30 days of unlimited data costs Ksh 10,190 (Ksh 339.67 per day). With roaming, you pay whatever your network charges; with the eSIM, you know the price before you travel.
Can I top up without switching eSIMs?
On most plans, yes: you top up the same eSIM from your account or the Wavee app, with no new QR code and nothing to install. The top-up screen shows the plans that work with your eSIM.
Can I use my phone as a hotspot?
Usually yes, but it depends on the plan and the local network. If it matters for your trip, talk to us before you buy.
What if I can't use the eSIM?
You have up to 30 days after purchase to request a refund. If the eSIM has not been activated yet, we refund the full amount, whatever the reason (cancelled trip, incompatible or locked phone). If it's activated but doesn't work, our support team helps you fix it; if we don't solve it within 10 days, we refund everything or the unused part.
