How to install an eSIM on Android

Find where to add an eSIM on Samsung, Pixel and other compatible Android devices.

Updated on May 13, 2026

On Android the path changes from brand to brand, but the step is always the same: add an eSIM under network settings and scan the QR code from your email. Install it at home, on Wi-Fi.

Where to find it on each brand

After installing

  1. 01

Set Wavee as the data line

After installing, pick the Wavee line for mobile data. Otherwise the device keeps trying to use your home SIM.

  2. 02

Turn on data roaming for the Wavee line

That is how the eSIM connects to partner networks abroad. Without roaming, the eSIM has no internet outside its home country.

Turning roaming on FOR THE WAVEE LINE does not trigger charges from your home carrier: a roaming bill would come from your home SIM line, which you can leave switched off during the trip.

No eSIM option in the menus? Dial *#06# on the phone keypad. Without a 32-digit EID the device has no eSIM, and some models sold in certain countries ship without the feature.

Frequently asked questions

Can I install it before travelling?

Yes, and we recommend it. Installing needs internet, and validity only starts on first use in a covered country.

The phone asks for a confirmation code

Some models ask for an activation code alongside the QR. It is in the same order email, in the manual installation section.

Can I use the eSIM and my home SIM at once?

Yes. Both lines stay active; you only choose which one uses the internet.
